Stress in Material

What is ment by stress?

           It is force applied to material to get deformation called stress.

Tensile Stress:

          It is force applied apart material.

Compressive stress:

         It is force applied towards material. It is reverse of tensile stress.

 

Fatigue stress:

         It is applied in cyclic application. Due to vibration or thermal.

 
Shear stress:

         It is force applied to perpendicular axis to get twist.
